About Us

Owner and Chef Marisa Beattie began her culinary journey in Northern California—the Golden State—where taco trucks are abundant and deeply woven into everyday culture. Growing up surrounded by bold flavors and authentic street food helped shape her love for simple, high‑quality meals made fresh.

After graduating from Lodi High School, Marisa enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where she served as an Active-Duty Food Service Specialist stationed at MCAS Miramar in San Diego. During her years of service, she sharpened her culinary skills and built the discipline and work ethic that would later fuel her dream of owning her own food business.

Following her enlistment, Marisa continued her culinary education, earning certificates and degrees from Le Cordon Bleu in Sacramento, California, and The Culinary Institute of Virginia in Norfolk, Virginia.

Although her dream had always been to open a food truck, it wasn’t until she moved from California to Norfolk, Virginia that she discovered her true passion: bringing authentic West Coast–style tacos to the East Coast. Unable to find the flavors she grew up with, Marisa set out to recreate them herself—focusing on fresh ingredients, bold seasoning, and the quality street food that California is known for.

Today, every taco and burrito is made fresh to order, crafted with care, and inspired by the authentic flavors that first sparked her love for food.

You Can’t Rush Perfection. 

To do things properly, speed isn’t the answer, but time management is. We take the time necessary to ensure we make our customer’s orders correct and the flavors remain fresh when they receive their food. However, we have developed speed through repetition and confidence in slinging our crave-able tacos and burritos. Don’t believe us? Try for yourself!
